Landscapes
The 1000 Words 'Landscapes' gallery highlights the country's rich culture and shows the changing landscapes across Timor-Leste. They also show Timor's historic and environmental challenges, brought on by the 25 year occupation by Indonesian, the impacts of mass deforestation and now the impacts of climate change. Officially known as the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, its size is about 15,410 km2 and comprises the eastern half of the island of Timor. Australia is the country's southern neighbour, separated by the Timor Sea. Every photo purchased supports tree planting in Timor-Leste as part of the WithOneSeed community forestry program.
